Bank statement converter with no subscription
If you convert a statement now and then, a monthly plan is the wrong shape. Statement Converter AI charges per page instead: the first 3 pages of your first upload are free, then $0.20 a page with a $3.90 minimum per batch, paid once at checkout with nothing recurring and no account. Tabula and Camelot are free and open source if your statements are text-based PDFs and a raw table is enough. The other mainstream converters we checked — DocuClipper, Bank Statement Converter, ProperConvert, Adobe Acrobat — are monthly or yearly plans.
What it costs without a plan
Statement Converter AI, in US dollars. The first column is a first upload, which includes the 3 free pages; the second is any upload after that. Each batch is paid once — up to 20 files and 500 pages go in together.
| Batch | First upload | Later uploads |
|---|---|---|
| One 3-page statement | Free | $3.90 |
| One 8-page statement | $3.90 | $3.90 |
| A year of 4-page statements (48 pages) | $9.00 | $9.60 |
| 200 pages | $39.40 | $40.00 |
| 640 pages | $127.40 | $128.00 |
For scale, the cheapest plans we checked: Bank Statement Converter — Starter $15/month for 400 pages; DocuClipper — Starter $20.30/month for 60 pages, billed annually; ProperConvert — $19.99/month or $179.99/year per user, unlimited pages. Outside the US, the pricing page shows our price in your own currency, and checkout charges in it.

Power Query comes with Excel, so it costs nothing extra if you already pay for Microsoft 365 or own Excel. The free tools return the table as it sits on the page: wrapped descriptions, page headers and separate debit and credit columns are yours to fix, and none of them writes QBO, QIF or OFX. Adobe also offers a free online PDF-to-Excel converter, which keeps the page layout rather than giving one row per transaction — see Acrobat alternatives.

When a subscription is cheaper
Paying per page is the cheaper choice for a few statements a month, or for a one-off backlog. At steady volume the plans win: 640 pages costs $128.00 here against $111.30 on DocuClipper Business billed annually, and ProperConvert is unlimited for $19.99 a month. If you convert hundreds of pages every month, take a plan; thefull comparison of 8 converters says which.
Frequently asked questions
Is there a bank statement converter without a subscription?
Yes. Statement Converter AI charges per page and nothing recurs: the first 3 pages of your first upload are free, then $0.20 a page with a $3.90 minimum per batch, paid once at checkout. Tabula and Camelot are free and open source but read only text-based PDFs and give you a table to tidy, not an accounting file.
Is there a bank statement converter with a one-time payment?
Statement Converter AI is paid once per batch: you see the price after upload, pay it, and download the files. There is no plan, renewal or account to cancel.
What is the cheapest way to convert one bank statement?
A statement of up to 3 pages converts free on your first upload. A longer one costs the $3.90 minimum until it passes 19 paid pages, then $0.20 a page. A monthly plan costs more than that for a single statement.
Can I convert a bank statement to QuickBooks without a subscription?
Yes. Statement Converter AI writes a .qbo file for QuickBooks Online on the same per-page price, and Excel or CSV for QuickBooks Desktop. The free tools (Tabula, Camelot) give you CSV only.
Do I need an account?
No. You upload, check the free pages, pay if there are more, and the result link is emailed to the address you give at checkout.
When is a subscription the better deal?
At steady volume. At 640 pages a month Statement Converter AI costs $128, against $111.30 on DocuClipper Business billed annually, and ProperConvert is unlimited for $19.99 a month. Pay per page wins when your volume is low or uneven.
