How to convert

Why this is more accurate than OCR

OCR reads a statement by position on the page. When a description wraps onto a second line, or the debit and credit columns sit close together, a positional parser attaches the wrong text to the wrong number.

How do I convert a bank statement to Tally?

What is the difference between Tally XML and Tally TDL?

XML is the file you import transactions from. TDL is the language used to customise Tally itself, not an import format, so nothing TDL-specific is produced.

Will debits and credits be on the right side?

Amounts are read as the statement prints them and kept on the same side, rather than re-signed from a single column.

Is my statement kept after conversion?

No. The file is used only to produce your converted copy and is deleted right after.

Do I need an account?

No. The converter works without signing up.
