Per statement or per page
MoneyThumb counts conversions: each monthly statement is one, however many pages it has, and a re-conversion of the same file is not counted again. Statement Converter AI counts pages: $0.20 each with a $3.90 minimum per batch, and a CSV, QIF or OFX file counts as one page. A short statement is cheaper per page; a long one is cheaper per statement. On MoneyThumb’s smallest monthly plan a statement costs $5.00; on its largest yearly plan, about $1.00.
When MoneyThumb is the better fit
If you convert dozens of statements a month, a yearly plan priced per statement costs less than paying per page, and MoneyThumb adds balancing and payee clean-up tools around the conversion. If Quicken is your program and you want a Web Connect file, MoneyThumb writes QFX and lets you pick the bank ID Quicken will accept; Statement Converter AI does not write QFX. MoneyThumb also sells desktop converters, if files must stay on your own computer.
When Statement Converter AI is the better fit
If you convert a statement now and then, paying for the pages you use beats a monthly subscription, and the first pages are free. There is no account and nothing to install, so it works on a Mac, a PC, a Chromebook or a phone, and it reads scanned and photographed statements. Besides QBO for QuickBooks Online it writesthe CSV Quicken for Windows imports, OFX for Xero and the import files for YNAB, Monarch Money, Actual Budget and Copilot Money.
Frequently asked questions
How much does MoneyThumb cost?
MoneyThumb Online for QuickBooks or Quicken is a subscription: $24.95 a month for 5 statement conversions, $49.95 for 20 and $99.95 for 60, or $199.95, $399.95 and $799.95 a year for 60, 240 and 800. One conversion is one monthly statement, and unused conversions roll over when the subscription renews. Prices read on MoneyThumb’s pages on 29 October 2026.
Is there a free MoneyThumb alternative?
Statement Converter AI converts the first 3 pages of your first upload free, with no account. After that it is $0.20 a page with a $3.90 minimum per batch, and no subscription.
Is there a PDF2QBO alternative that runs in the browser?
Yes. Upload the PDF statement here, choose QBO and download a .qbo for QuickBooks Online — nothing to install, and scanned statements are read too. The file carries Intuit’s bank ID tag, as Web Connect files do.
Can Statement Converter AI make a QFX file for Quicken?
No. Quicken checks the bank ID inside a QFX against the banks that offer Web Connect; MoneyThumb lets you pick a bank ID for its QFX files, and we do not write them. For Quicken we write the CSV Quicken for Windows imports into checking, savings and credit card accounts, and QIF. If a QFX is what you need, MoneyThumb is the better fit.
Which is cheaper, MoneyThumb or Statement Converter AI?
For a few statements, paying per page: any batch up to 19 pages costs at most the $3.90 minimum, against $24.95 for a month of MoneyThumb Online, and the first 3 pages of a first upload are free. At steady volume MoneyThumb’s yearly plans win: 800 statements for $799.95 is about $1 each, whatever their length.
Is my statement kept?
No. The uploaded file is deleted once the transactions have been read, and the result is only reachable through your private link.
